Palaia and Pierrevert: a Weekend Celebrating 24 Years of Twinning
On 10th and 11th October, Palaia will welcome a delegation of friends from Pierrevert, France, on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the twinning between the two communities. th
It will be a weekend devoted to friendship and shared experiences, featuring cultural activities, local visits, traditions and convivial gatherings. An opportunity to celebrate and renew the bond that has brought Palaia and Pierrevert together for the past 24 years.
Saturday, 10th October
At 3:00 pm, the French delegation will arrive in Pontedera, where they will visit the Piaggio Museum, with a tour dedicated to the Vespa, an iconic symbol of Italian industrial history and culture.
The day will continue at 8:00 pm with a gala dinner at Tenuta Giampaola in Montechiari-Forcoli, inspired by the theme La Dolce Vita. The evening will offer an opportunity to meet, share stories and enjoy one another’s company, in an atmosphere inspired by the glamour and spirit of 1950s Italy.
Sunday, 11th October
The morning will begin at 10:00 am with a visit and tasting at the Morelli Liquor Factory in Forcoli, offering an insight into one of the area’s historic local producers.
The group will then travel to Palaia for an official welcome at the Town Hall. This will be a special occasion for the two delegations to meet, share memories of the twinning over the years and look ahead to future opportunities for cooperation and cultural exchange.
The programme will conclude with a lunch together, followed by farewells as the French delegation prepares for its return journey.
This initiative is an important opportunity to celebrate 24 years of relations between Palaia and Pierrevert and to renew a partnership built on friendship, mutual understanding and the desire to continue sharing experiences, traditions and projects.
